Everything runs in this tab — your files never leave your device. Images convert instantly; Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files use a LibreOffice engine that downloads once (~60 MB, cached) the first time a file needs it.

Does PDF Freely upload my documents?

No. Conversion runs inside your browser — Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files are converted by LibreOffice compiled to WebAssembly, locally. Files never leave your device.

Which formats can be converted to PDF?

Word (doc, docx), PowerPoint (ppt, pptx), Excel (xls, xlsx), OpenDocument (odt, odp, ods), RTF, CSV, HTML, plain text, and JPG, PNG, or WebP images.

Why does the first document conversion download an engine?

Office documents are converted by a full LibreOffice engine compiled to WebAssembly (about 60 MB compressed). It only downloads when a file actually needs it — images and PDFs don't — and your browser caches it for next time.

Can PDF Freely merge and split PDFs?

Yes. The Organize tool merges files, reorders pages, exports selected pages, and downloads each page as a split ZIP.
